In the past, when things didn't go our way, we'd just let things snowball. This group has grown a lot. They have learned how to keep their composure and just fight. And tonight was a big step in the right direction. This was a good win for us.

It's really a team activity. The kids work together, critique each other's events and talk about what they need to do.

They're cross country kids that have come through on distance.

Quite a few of them would have came out.

We can't watch all those kids. We're teaching them responsibility; if they cheat (at practice) then they're cheating themselves.

I would not be surprised to see Stewart follow on the heels of (Islip) pretty quickly.

Our No. 1 goal is for the athletes to learn about speed and quickness. Hopefully they'll leave track and field and it will help some of the other sports they compete in.

I think you will see some matching. But the (major competitor) airlines will dance around to begin with.

We want to run, jump and throw to beat somebody. We want to approach every meet the same.
